Program Overview
The textile industry of Pakistan is in dire need of competent human resources equipped with a strong technical background and a vision for developing new products and services. In order to address this need, the University of Management and Technology (UMT) has launched the Master of Science in Textiles (MSTX). It is a two-year program catering for the requirements of the Pakistani textile market. Classes are normally scheduled in the evening for the benefit of the employed participants.
Program Objectives
The core objective of the program is to produce graduates with a strong technical knowledge of textiles, able to critically analyze problems of the textile industry of Pakistan. In addition, they will be able to conduct research both in industry, and in research institutions for finding innovative solutions to new and recurring problems.
Career Paths
The graduates of MSTX program will be able to join textile industry and research institutions as technical experts and research scholars. They can also join the academia in faculty positions.
Admission Criteria
- 16 years education in Textile Engineering or an allied line, with minimum CGPA 2.50 out of 4.00 or equivalent in semester system or 50% in annual system
- No third Division in entire academic career
- NTS-GAT (General) with 50% marks or equivalent and should be valid at the time of admission
- UMT Written Test
